My friend Clay suggested I should get my hands The Secret Garden by Frances Hodgon Burnett after he started to read it, saying it seemed like "just my kind of story." A great recommendation as it turned out, I enjoyed the book thoroughly; I even finished it before he did! I fell in love with the characters. So much that I felt compelled to do my own interpretation of Mary, Dickon, and Colin.
I wanted to go for a more storybook kind of look, but in the end they turned out looking a little like tiny dolls. Especially Colin looks so fragile. One nudge and he'll shatter! If you don't know the story and like charming little fairy tales, let me pass Clay's recommendation on: Go and read The Secret Garden by Frances Hodgon Burnett!
Oooh, I love that book!
My mum had it and every summer, when we went to the country house where the book was, I read it. It was one of the first books I read and I always loved it. When I was little I read it in Italian, but recently I bought the English version too
I love a lot another book from the same author too: The Little Princess
Your pic is lovely
Wee! It's you! More "last ones" please!
I've never read the book, but I've seen two movie versions. Great characters! I especially like your plump English robin.

Daily Literature Deviations is a group that is dedicated to bringing literature to the forefront of the deviantArt community. We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it. Each day we will feature 5 deviations from the Literature categories in a News Article.
In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you the news article as well as check out the individual pieces. We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.
Have a great time everyone and please fav this article so as many people can see the featured works. I would recommend seeing each one and faving them too.
