My first picture of the year is a stylistic experiment. It's based on an illustration I discovered on DeviantART, titled Link:Lv.2. I tried to stay as close to the original as possible without copying directly; especially the colors are heavily referenced. Be sure to drop by the artist's gallery, her work is very cute and dreamy. I'm a big fan!
As usual, even if you usually don't feel and agree like so, I think your quick doodles come out way better than I would expect. And I have such high expectations when dealing with people like you
Reference aside, I love Ledin's expression and the fluidity of his motion. Happy little prankster, is what he is. I can only imagine what he shot at. And by the looks of it, it was a well aimed shot. The tattered edges of his oversized shirt is also a nice touch. And for once, the light palette gives us a hint of what Ledin would look like if he doesn't stay out in the sun too much.
I just pray he didn't use poor butsu as ammunition for his slingshot.
Though I can't find much to say about this beyond the fact that I fell in love with the colors at first sight, I'd hate to simply fav and not leave a comment...
Even though this is inspired off ~nemurism's work, I think I actually like your version better. It just seems more delicate and air-ey (or perhaps I'm just biased since I love your style (or maybe because its Ledin!)).
Daily Literature Deviations is a group that is dedicated to bringing literature to the forefront of the deviantArt community. We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it.
Each day we will feature 10 deviations from the Literature categories in a News Article. In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you the news article as well as check out the individual pieces. We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.
When it comes to community spirit, `Rushy is a shining example. From participating in devmeets, to providing positive encouragement to other artists, `Rushy can always be found demonstrating what it really takes to be a true deviant. It's without any hesitation that we are delighted to award the Deviousness Award for July 2009 to `RushyRead More
